Hello all, I think this run should be a lot of fun. Lots of great stuff to see. Great drive with curvy roads. Our Lunch spot is up in the air and can be determined by what the club wants to do. See details below: We can meet at AP's for those of us living in Henderson at 8:30am. From there we can head to Love's Truck Stop just outside of Apex and meet up with everyone at 9:15-9:30am. From Love's Truck-stop we take I-15 Northbound Exit 75 Moapa Travel Plaza towards Valley of Fire We Drive Along the Valley of Fire Hwy till the entrance of the State Park (That portion of the drive is very scenic) We will have to stop to gain access. ($8 per car for Nevada Residents) (At this point we can pick a small hike to do if anyone is interested) We continue East on Valley of Fire Hwy until it intersects 169 Parkshore Rd. If we go Left (North), we can go to Overton and stop for Lunch/Ice Cream. I suggest Inside Scoop (397-2055). Afterward we can either continue North and jump back on the 15 or follow the lake Rd back to Vegas. If we go Right (South), we can follow the Lake Rd to any one of the Marinas as most have Restaurants. Echo Bay (394-4000) Callville Bay (565-8958) Lake Mead Marina (293-3484). Or Continue to Boulder City, or Back to Vegas. We can also just turn around and go back through the park ending up where we started. I think the lunch spot has a lot to do with who is going and who wants to do what. Attached is a photo of the route from Love's Truck-stop to the intersection with 169 Parkshore Rd. Inside Scoop and Echo Bay are both shown on that map. Lets have a great time together Next Sunday November 20th Attachments:

Well, the heat is here and we've got a great place to beat the heat. It's the Cedar Breaks National Monument - Wildflower Festival run. The temperature is expected to be 67 on Sunday - so you'll even want to bring a jacket. Sunday, July 24th is the last Sunday for the Wildflower Festival. We will be eating breakfast at 8:00 a.m. at the Iron Skillet (6595 N Hollywood Blvd, Las Vegas, NV89115-1769, just off the Racetrack exit). If you prefer a little more sleep, we'll be departing the Iron Skillet at 8:45 a.m.
Cedar Breaks National Park is 180 miles from the Iron Skillet - an approximate 3 hours. There is a wildflower hike offered at 1:00 PM. Because of the lower temperatures there, some regions of the park still have snow, you might consider bringing a jacket. I'd also consider bringing some water bottles so you may take one on the hike, if you desire. There is also a scenic drive (more info to follow). We will leave the park following the return of those going on the hike. We will then head back down and have an early dinner in St. George. Please RSVP as to whether you wish to enjoy the hike or not, so we can make those plans with the park visitor's center.
We will take a concensus regarding the restaurant stop on the way back from those who are on the run.

At this time of year – and truthfully throughout the year – we will be disappointed, let down or unpleasantly surprised by another’s words, actions or lack thereof. Our hope is misplaced when placed in a person – for we are but human and prone to err. But if our hope remains in our Creator and Savior, then we are standing on sturdy ground with room to launch.
How would you treat people if you assumed they were good? If we gave one another the benefit of the doubt, how would it change the way we treated each other? Would we be more generous with our time and possessions? You know today you can smile at someone who has brought you grief because your trust and hope is not in them. It is in the Lord, who loves you without measure. So walk today with confidence. You are a child of the King and no one can take that away from you. And next week a good portion of the world will celebrate the Son’s birthday – whose suffering on your account made you a joint heir. Run with it!!!
Live, breathe, smile, laugh and celebrate this day ON PURPOSE because….Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles, they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:31 NIV
