Mother Teresa said, "Don't look for big things, just do small things with great love.". Recently I learned a valuable lesson. I have always had a thing about giving the perfect gift for an occasion or I would feel really bad...sometimes my budget wouldn't allow me to do as I wished for another and instead of doing what I could at the time, my head would be stuck with the perfect gift and I would do nothing at all because it would not meet my own expectations. I would feel awful, but more importantly the intended recipient would feel as though I didn't care because I wasn't there. A small thing in love would have made them feel more special. "Do what you can with what you have where you are." Theodore Roosevelt "...if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing." 1 Corinthians 13:2b You see, no one knows our intention unless we act. That person you've been praying for could use a kind note or word from you. It's only then that they even know you care, that you're in their corner and supporting them along the way. So today...ask God to bring someone to mind that needs an act of kindness and act.

Lately some "bug" has been making it's way through our office and I have been waking a little “under-the-weather” with wishes of remaining in bed for a few more hours of rest. I find myself slow to move and – as I have found – also more susceptible to negative thoughts and words followed by the sting of regret for having allowed a momentary lapse in the guarding of my mind and sometimes even my tongue. OUCH! It is too easy to allow the negative to creep in, especially in this trying economic climate where tension, fear and doubt seem to hang in the air and the media is constantly blasting us with news of our further demise. We can often feel as though we are wading our way through the quagmire – trudging along with each tentative step in the shifting bog. Lucky for us there are instructions as to what to do in these times. First we repent. Get right before God and our peer(s) and move on to … whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things. (Phil. 4:8) Truly – we must dwell – live in the midst of and fill our mind with those things that are true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, of good repute, excellence and worthy of praise. It changes our face, step and very essence as we do so. We become more approachable, more likely to share a smile and to be a beacon for another whose lost their way. So today - here goes...I'm choosing to begin with my focus in the right place. Won't you join me? gratitudeattitudetoday.blogspot.com/

I love going to my email and finding a message from family or friends. I hear the writer's voice, see their face and have a few moments with them no matter the time of day or night. It is a lovely oasis any time...a place where my heart is filled to overflowing as I basque in that life-giving moment. It helps to combat the stories of gloom and violence that seem so prevalent. I can see why we are to Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. Proverbs 4:23 I rarely "catch the news" these days. The violence and unkindness that we human beings have the ability to inflict upon one another is just too painful. It is but one of the ways I attempt to guard my heart.
Did you know that it is even good for your health to have a happy heart? According to Proverbs 17:22 a cheerful heart is good medicine, so let's open the doors of our happy heart and bless those around us with good medicine.

These are familiar sites for me – along Lake Tahoe. They make me smile and it’s almost as though I can feel the sun shining on my face – the cool mountain air dislodging my hair enough to cool my neck. Familiarity rests within our heart and is brought to the forefront when we see, hear, touch or smell something from our past or the joy of our heart in the present. For me – my present is wonderful – a place where I love and am loved – my cup runneth over. When I view these familiar sites I am welled up to overflowing as they blend with my state of being. To know and be known – to love and be loved – are the greatest cries of our heart. And now these three remain – faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13:13 Love is what makes “chores” into blessings to another. Love is why we hold onto someone dear shivering with fever with no regard for our own health. Love is what gets us up out of a comfy embrace to fetch a glass of juice or water for another…to do the mundane so that someone does not have to. It is love that never fails. So in this new day … eyes twinkling bright with the love that fills your being - let it shine. Speak to another with a smile and let them feel familiar… loved. I am so grateful for this new day. gratitudeattitudetoday.blogspot.com/Attachments:

“Teach us to number our days and recognize how few they are, help us to spend them as we should.” Psalm 90:12 TLB
Each day the news is a reminder that we are not on this planet at our own will and design and that each day is a day that can not be returned once spent.
Today is a new day – a new week – a new adventure and I want it to count for everything. Should tomorrow take me to heaven, I want to have lived and loved well…to not have withheld love, kindness, goodness or encouragement from anyone, but to have added to the lives of those with whom I come in contact.
So I will number this day 1 and tomorrow day 1 and the next day 1 as well, planning to live each with the life and newness every new dawn brings.

Flowers are blooming, birds are singing, the sky is even blue with puffy snowball clouds… yet at the same time, we are trapped by the confusion stepping into each day on this Earth can bring. There are concerns that we bury, cover or lay openly bare before the world – hoping an answer, some comfort, some completion will present itself brightly before us with a neon sign announcing – THIS IS YOUR FUTURE AND IT IS GOOD.
Good News!!! GOD sees all, knows all, has all things at His disposal, is all sufficient, all powerful and ….AND WE KNOWHE CAUSES ALL THINGS TO WORK TOGETHER FOR GOOD FOR THOSE WHO LOVE HIM…! Romans 8:28
HOWEXCITING IS THAT?! His simple request of us. We walk by faith, not by sight — 2 Corinthians 5:7 It’s hard sometimes, but carry it, count on it… take the next step knowing that the Creator of this Universe is on your side and He’s hoping you will allow Him to pour forth His blessings upon you and through you….. that you will receive and be grateful as each knew chapter in your amazing life unfolds.
Enjoy your day! May knowing the truth – holding on to it and dancing in its midst today bless your socks off!

What a beautiful crisp day! As we start this year I am ever grateful for those oft taken-for-granted things….a home, employment, means to get there and healthy family. But there are those who are smiling on the outside while breaking on the inside from a recent loss, the weight of a carried burden or decision, fear of the unknown as they await results from a doctor, a mortgage company or an estranged spouse. At such a time in my own life, I found strength from many different sources, one was author, Leo Buscaglia who writes Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around. Perhaps you remember a cherished word or the time of someone when you were feeling low and felt alone and as though “no one knows.”
How awesome that we have the opportunity to bring joy and life to another so simply.
There is a Jewish Proverb that states: “Whoever walks toward God one step, God runs toward him two.” But ultimately, Let us come boldly to the very throne of God (Hebrews 4:16) For it is He Who holds all in His hands and makes all things work together for good for those who love [Him] and are called according to His purpose. Let’s be a blessing to someone today….a smile, a touch, a kind word….

Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable – if anything excellent or praiseworthy – think about such things. Philippians 4:8
The more I am learning about “ye have not because ye ask not” and be anxious for nothing but in all things through prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God and the peace that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus;" the more I understand how important it is to think about the noble, right, pure, lovely and admirable.
As I have come to understand it, even nuclear physicists have found that when we are happy the vibration of our cells is at a higher rate – and when sad, a lower rate. When we dwell on those things listed above, we attract more of that into our lives. When we dwell on the negative and are fearful – we attract those very things that inhabit our thoughts – whether we are seeking them or concentrating on NOT wanting them.
So today – in power – think on these things and the highest goals and purpose in your life. Let those thoughts occupy your heart, mind and soul and you will see the doors opening just as promised… and the peace that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus It’s a new day – another page in your legacy.

James Allen said,"Circumstance does not make the man; it reveals him to himself." What an amazing truth! It is in time of crisis that we find out what we are made of. Is our first reaction one of blame or anger? Or do we remain faithful; grateful for all that we have been blessed with as we move forward through the challenge?
Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. (1 Thessalonians 5:18) Now may the Lord of peace Himself continually grant you peace in every circumstance The Lord be with you all! (2 Thessalonians 3:16)
Remember - as your neighbor witnesses your kindness to others, he/she also witnesses your reaction to a flat tire, a broken lawn mower, a noisy neighbor, or any of a number of unpleasant surprises. All that you have done well, with love and care can be undone in those moments if your reaction belies the words of encouragement you've shared in their moments of distress.
So be vigilent .... be grateful... always.
Have a wonderful day filled with gratitude in the midst of your circumstance. I'm in the balcony cheering you on.

Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise; Give thanks to Him and praise His name. For the Lord is good and His love endures forever; His faithfulness continues through all generations. Psalm 100:4-5
How amazing to know that regardless of the gook and grime in our lives – the uncertainty and everchanging tide – we can count on this…. God loves you and has an amazing plan for your life. He remains faithful and on the throne.

Today flying above the clouds with occasional glimpses of stunning mountain views, I was filled with wonder. There was breathtaking beauty before me for miles and miles and miles. As the sun set over the horizon, beacons of light would reveal small communities and even lone homes - oasis in the midst of wilderness. As I peered from this new perspective, I was reminded of the sea of people we live and move within and thought of those lovely people I know within it who are beacons in the storm. They are genuine, caring people whom you know you can trust - a safe harbor in the face of adversity...a friend along the way. I am blessed to have many in my life, but recently a co-worker - known for her tremendous sense of humor and kindness, delivered a card and gift as I was ready to embarq on a trip. I was so moved. She was an answer to prayer as she ministered to my concerns. I was full of gratitude for her and for God. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. (Matthew 5:16). It causes me to examine myself....does my light shine? Am I a lighthouse in the sea of people shining a message of hope on the way to the Savior? I'm working on it. Let your light shine my friends! gratitudeattitudetoday.blogspot.com/

That's the best thing to do, Rick. When a message comes back so quickly, usually it warrants a check up.

We'll be meeting at Hot Rod Grill at 7:00 a.m. leaving fairly shortly thereafter and then picking up any stragglers at the Rebel on the right side of the road entering Boulder City. We'll then cross over the dam and meet up with the Arizona clubs at their staging area - the Last Stop Restaurant. At the appointed time we will head out on the road with them for the crossover at the dam bypass. Attachments:

Just hear those sleigh bells jingling ring ting tingling too. Come on it's lovely weather for a sleigh ride together with you ...... Well there isn't any snow on the ground here, but I sure do love that song. In fact, I've included the very version I grew up hearing in our home for your listening pleasure. It may not feel that jolly or ring ting tingling for you today.... I know a loved one was discriminated against in such a way this week that it took all I had to "Be still and know that I am God," and to remember the rest of the verse "I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth." (Psalm 46:10) While clearly there are injustices in the world - some vague and behind closed doors - others blatant and painful - we must remember that ultimately, God is in control and He always prevails. We may not always see it, but we are assured it to be true. Then we must remember the remainder of the verse and that [He] will be exalted among the nations, [He] will be exalted in the earth." That exultation takes place everytime we stand in the face of unrighteousness and love, everytime we give respect and dignity to another and even when we shout glory in a hymn. While I've included a "fun" song, I've also included one that I hope blesses you greatly and causes you to pause and praise. www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZFcm4VoS_-E&feature=related I hope it inspires you and the Spirit wells up within you to change this day to be one of joy - regardless of your circumstance - and one of gratitude as each blessing flows through you as you give yourself to the moment and the glory. God bless you greatly today. www.youtube.com/watch?v=3qBEXubFGxw
